Mehmet Celepkolu
I am a Research Scientist, who is passionate about creating intelligent AI applications for human learning.
I have a Ph.D. in Computer Science and I love working with multi-disciplinary teams to create innovative technologies for learners from all ages and backgrounds.
What do I do?
My research centers around intelligent & adaptive systems, human-centered computing, and learning analytics!
I work with a team of developers, designers, and researchers to develop intelligent applications, conduct UX research studies, and publish research papers.
Projects & Experiences
Research Scientist, Computer Science, University of Florida (2020 - Current)
- I am leading the project teams to design, develop, and iteratively refine project prototypes.
- I am managing and supporting the team all areas of responsibility in planning and implementing UX studies.
- Currently, I am working on two National Science Foundation (NSF) projects:
- Project 1: Developing intelligent virtual agent prototypes for children.
- Project 2: Creating an interface for children to develop chatbot projects.
Graduate Research Assistant, Computer Science & Educational Technology, University of Florida (2014 - 2020)
- I iteratively developed a full stack web-based application to visualize natural dialogue during group work.
- I conducted experimental studies with 1000+ college students and 400+ middle school students.
- I worked on multiple National Science Foundation (NSF) and Google projects.
Instructional Designer, College of Nursing, University of Florida (2014 - 2016)
- I trained the faculty staff in discovering methods of improving their instruction with technology.
- I managed the creation and design of 40+ remote and in-person courses each semester.
- I increased the instructor and student satisfaction.
